There is very seldom a need for homeschooling parents to really buy brand new text books. With so many children in homeschooling there is a good chance that you will find a used book for much cheaper.

The first place you should look for books will be your local support group. This might be an online or town-based group. In communities with a large homeschooling population the local bookstores should have the most popular homeschooling books or they might be able to order it for you. If your town has a store selling used books it would be the best idea to look there first.

Amazon is one of the largest online book shops and the best known. They have a wide variety of text books and you should find any book you need at their store. The nice thing about Amazon is that they have new and used books available for most of their stock. The used books are normally way cheaper than the new ones. The conditions of the used books are shown and most of them are in a good condition.

This site allows anybody to advertise books and they have a large database for a variety of subjects. You won’t be dealing with the site but directly with the seller as on most other classified selling sites. Sellers can build up a reputation for themselves as on other selling sites and it is advisable to check the seller’s ratings before you send money. Most people are honest and you should not have problems but there is always that one person that is trying to make a quick buck from innocent people.
E-Bay
A while back E-bay had some restrictions on certain homeschooling books, but they still have a large database for text books and it will be worthwhile to have a look if you have trouble finding a specific book.
