For a parent with a special needs child a group focusing on the specific impairment of the child will be more useful than a general support group. If your town has a general homeschooling support group it will still be valuable to join them, as well. If your town doesn’t have a support group for children with special needs, you can always start one. There might be more parents in the vicinity that need the same support and that is an ideal way to make contact with them.

There is also a free curriculum and other resources available. It is different from other curriculum programs, but as a parent you will know if this will be the best for your child’s needs. This homeschooling website has a lot of information on how to identify if your child is a struggling learner and has a section on different therapies available as well as a comprehensive list of books on specific needs. They will also assist you in legal matters concerning your right to homeschool your child with special needs.
