Homeschooling Preschool Program

Although a preschool program can be very flexible there are certain things that children should be able to do at a certain age. Children who attend a quality daycare or preschool facility are constantly monitored and parents are made aware of any problems their children might have. If there are serious concerns about the child’s development parents can look for professional help.

If a child is homeschooled it will be the parent’s responsibility to look out for possible developmental problems and address it as soon as possible. It is important to remember that children are unique and at a young age some children might develop faster in certain areas than other. If you are homeschooling and are concerned about your child’s development it would give you peace of mind to have the child tested by a professional.

There is no need to spend a fortune on a preschool program and if you don’t feel comfortable designing your own there are affordable ways to obtain one.

Support Group

It is always good to first research the support groups in your area or town. They should have advice on the best preschool curriculums or there might be other parents selling their used curriculums. When buying a used curriculum it is advisable to make sure the program is not outdated.

Buy a Program

Complete preschool curriculums and programs can be bought from a variety of companies.  At KidSparkz.com you can buy the curriculum for each month for around $8 or the complete curriculum for all the years for about $90.  The advantage here is if you are not happy with the curriculum you have only spent money for one month and you can easily change to another program. They also have theme units which is another option if you prefer working around a theme.

At abchomepreschool.com you can obtain a full program for year 2-6 at around $50. They can also be bought separately at $30 for year2, year3 and year 4-6.

Free Programs

Some free programs are useful and others are just a waste of time. They can be useful if you want to create your own preschool program and have time to sift through them and keep only the best. One of the best places to start is at curriki.org. It is an open-source website where most resources are submitted by teachers.
